Christmas Card Sets

I've been working on Christmas card sets for the holidays and wanted to share what I've made so far!

The background green and scappled ruffle green papers are from Recollections Bright and Jolly paper pack.  I cut the green ruffles from my Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge.  I totally glued the first layer, and then the second layer I glued just the edge and then slightly bent the scallops to create the layered scallop look.  The reindeer is on a lovely red cardstock from Christy Lyle's Countdown to Christmas stack.  I cut the reindeer using my Cricut Joys of the Season cartridge (I positioned it on 3D foam to add dimension).  I added lace and hemp twine and stamped "Merry Christmas" in black ink.

For these cards, the background music paper comes from gcd studios "Paris Nights" paper stack.  I used the Cricut Joys of the Season to cut the wreath and used two different green papers from The Paper Studios "Cozy Little Christmas" stack.  I glued this straight to the cardstock.  The red bows are actually made from strips of red fabric--I cut each piece in an inch wide strip, and slightly frayed the edges by pulling and tugging to add a more rustic look to my bows.  I stamped Merry Christmas in green in on a small cardstock tag (cut on my Cricut from the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge), and tied it with twine and a red flower button.  I attached this part to the red ribbon with a hot glue gun...I have tried tying it all together and I find it so hard to make it all turn out looking as I want, so I tied the twine, button, and tag separately and then attached it to the red bow.

I just love how these turned out--so bright and fun for the holidays!  The two background papers I used are from My Mind's Eye Wonderful Christmas.  I cut the white and blue scalloped circles on the Cricut using the Accent Essentials cartridge (the blue glittered paper is from Christy Lyle's Countdown to Christmas stack).  I glued the blue scallop to the white cardstock scallop and then positioned this layered scallop on 3D foam.  Next, I cut out the cute little snowmen from a piece of paper in the My Mind's Eye Wonderful Winter stack.  I also positioned the snowmen on 3D foam.  I cut out strips of white cardstock to make the little banners in the corner, and stamped them in Merry Christmas in blue.  I used blue cross stitching thread on the white buttons.  I folder the banner and glued it behind the background cardstock--I liked the extra folded edge.  I glued this down and added the button with hot glue.  Lastly, I made the ribbons from a coarse pink fabric that I cut into 1 inch wide strips.  I pulled at the fabric to make it fray, again, for that more rustic look.  I cut a slight slit in the top of the card and ran the fabric through and tied my bow (this way when you open the card, there is also a strip of pink fabric on the inside which I like as an added touch).

Some Halloween Treats

So I'd like to share with you today a few Halloween greeting cards that I've put together.

The black and white striped paper comes from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found paper stack.  I LOVE this paper pad!!!!  The orange gingham paper comes from Recollections All Seasons paper stack.  The black cat is a diecut, and the bingo card you can find at iralamijashop digital images on Etsy.  added a black tulle bow, raffia paper bow, black button, and cream embroidery twine.

Once again, I used paper from Recollections "All Seasons" and My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found" paper packs.  I sewed the edges, made the white flower and green leaves from two linen fabrics, and nestled the orange flower on top from Recollections.  I added orange seam binding, trinket pins (can be found in the floral section of the craft store), a frame cut from my "Joys of the Season" Cricut cartridge, and another bingo card from iralamijashop.  I finished with a trick or treat sentiment (had this for years so I'm not sure who makes it) and buttons.

The papers for this card all come from the Recollections "All Seasons" paper pack.  I added a lovely black trim, a bingo card from ijalamijashop, and a frame cut from my "Heritage" Cricut cartridge.  I made the flower and leaves as the previous card, nestled with the Recollections flower, and added a black fabric button tied with black tulle, and white buttons.

Enjoy!
